MAREE'S TREATMENT SUMMARY
I have over twenty years’ experience as a psychologist and have worked in many settings, including forensic and community mental and physical health.
I believe therapy is not just techniques, so I provide a therapeutic healing presence, to give people—often for the first time—an experience of warmth, authenticity and unconditional acceptance. I believe in challenging myself with personal growth opportunities because I can only take people as far as I have come. I also believe in the power of humour, when appropriate, as a healing mechanism.
The evidence-based therapies I draw upon vary, based on my client’s preferences and presentation. They include:
Areas of expertise:
My master’s degree was in health psychology and my research thesis explored people’s experiences with a life-threatening illness.
In my spare time, I am a writer and musician. I also enjoy yoga, walking and strength-training.
Client base:
Medicare and private referrals
Clients 18 years and over
Please note I don’t provide psychological reports, psychometric testing, or court reports.
