Even though Tara loved the complexity that her laboratory science background provided her, she wanted more contact with people, to engage with them as a whole person.
This is what drew her to General Practice. As a GP, Tara is able to have long term relationships with her patients, discover their stories and provide them with the knowledge to improve their health now and in the future. Enhancing her patients understanding of their health, explaining why they have a symptom or what steps they can take to make themselves feel better is so rewarding for Tara. Her special interests include Women’s Health (gynaecology, pregnancy and breastfeeding); Paediatrics/Adolescents; and Mental Health (depression, anxiety). As a friendly and curious person, Tara finds meeting new people and learning everyday extremely exciting and fulfilling.
