Acupuncture Brisbane

Acupuncture is a technique used in traditional Chinese Medicine sharing the idea of wholism, the theories of Yin-Yang and the "Five Elements" throughout ancient Chinese philosophy.

Acupuncture targets disease and pain management based upon the traditional methods of healing from the East.

Why is the Traditional Chinese Acupuncture practiced at Tyack Health so potent?

It comes down to four key consistencies:

• Combining Acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbs tends to increases treatment effectiveness.

• Tyack Health’s Acupuncturists have both undertaken traditional Chinese Acupuncture training in China with respected Master Practitioners.

• Tyack Health’s Acupuncturists both have specific areas of special interest that they focus on.

• Acupuncture at Tyack Health is delivered by professionally accredited practitioners with in depth human anatomy experience.

Acupuncture at Tyack Health is gentle, safe, and relaxing. We believe good technique is critically important.

Why should you consider Acupuncture?

Acupuncture has been used for 2000 years in China and then spread to eastern countries. Enduring the test of time, it is now well recognized and respected in Australia. So much so that one in seven Australian doctors (General Practitioners) now use acupuncture to treat patients, and every two weeks 90,600 Australians visit an Acupuncturist to improve their health or relieve pain. One of the strong appeals of Acupuncture is it offers an effective drug free option for certain conditions and for some pain sufferers.

Acupuncture is effective as a standalone treatment for a wide variety of conditions, but should also be considered as a complementary therapy with other modalities such as Massage, Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Fertility Treatment, Naturopathy, Bowen Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and Hydrotherapy.

What is the Basis of Acupuncture?

The goal of Acupuncture is to establish healthy body function by restoring the natural circulation of energy, or life force known in Chinese medicine as Qi (pronounced "chee"). Acupuncture is a technique used in traditional Chinese Medicine sharing the idea of wholism, the theories of Yin-Yang and the "Five Elements" throughout ancient Chinese philosophy. Acupuncture targets disease and pain management based upon the traditional methods of healing from the East.

Acupuncture for Menopause

Most Recent Studies Support Why Growing Numbers of Women Report Traditional Chinese Acupuncture is Beneficial for the Treatment of Menopause Symptoms.

Tyack Health’s Kuan-Sing Kao M.D.(Acu. & Chinese Medicine) has a special interest in treating menopause with traditional Chinese Acupuncture and herbs. It is encouraging to know that the positive results patients report back are also supported by recent research.

A recent study published in Acupuncture in Medicine suggests that traditional Chinese Acupuncture lessen the severity of hot flushes and other symptoms associated with menopause. While the study was small, the conclusions offered by the authors were encouraging, especially for women who want relief from menopausal symptoms but do not wish to resort to hormone replacement therapy. Also noteworthy was the fact that the effects of the Acupuncture treatments appeared to be cumulative.

In a 2009 study of breast cancer patients and survivors reported in Science Daily, researcher Eleanor Walker, M.D. of America's Henry Ford Hospital stated that Acupuncture “offers patients a safe, effective and durable treatment option for hot flashes” and went so far as to say that “Acupuncture actually has benefits, as opposed to more side effects” as compared to drug therapy.
